Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) is a powerful framework in business management that enables informed and balanced decision-making when multiple factors such as cost, quality, risk, time, and customer satisfaction must be considered simultaneously. In real-world scenarios—like supplier selection involving numerous criteria—MCDM offers a structured and systematic approach to evaluate, compare, and rank alternatives, even when factors are conflicting.

This Faculty Development Program (FDP) aims to equip participants with practical knowledge and skills to effectively apply MCDM in research and professional decision-making. At the same time, management education is increasingly embracing case-based pedagogy to promote experiential learning and strengthen analytical abilities.

Recognizing this shift, the FDP integrates advanced research methodologies like MCDM with effective case-teaching practices. This combined approach is designed to enhance faculty competencies in both research and classroom delivery, ensuring a more engaging, practical, and impactful teaching-learning experience.

ISDSI Global Research Wing is a premier research body committed to strengthening India's academic and research ecosystem. In collaboration with IMI Kolkata, ISDSI is launching its Inaugural Faculty Development Programme (FDP) — a landmark initiative focused on developing faculty members and research scholars in the domain of research writing and advanced methodologies.

ISDSI's mission is to empower passionate faculty and scholars who wish to contribute meaningfully to nation-building through high-quality research. Guided by the vision “From India to the World”, ISDSI believes that this can only be achieved collectively — through collaboration, mentorship, and a shared purpose.

The Programme is led under the visionary guidance of Prof. Bhimaraya Metri, Director IIM Nagpur and President ISDSI Global, and Prof. Ravi Kumar Jain, whose leadership has been instrumental in establishing ISDSI Global as a nationally recognised research development body.

IMI Kolkata is a distinguished management institution and a key academic partner for this FDP. Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Mohua Banerjee, Director, IMI Kolkata, the institution has wholeheartedly supported this initiative, bringing academic rigour and research depth to the Programme.

Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU), established in 2010 by the Government of Bihar, is a premier state university headquartered in Patna. The university is dedicated to the development and management of higher education in fields such as engineering, management, medical sciences, and professional education.
